Burnout is the result of chronic stress that produces feelings of depleted energy, fatigue, increased cynicism, and reduced effectiveness. Though usually associated with work, it can be caused by long-term stress from any meaningful activity that can leave you physically and emotionally drained, including school and family responsibilities. This inventory is intended to screen you for many of the symptoms commonly associated with burnout, but it cannot be used for diagnostic purposes. Though the items focus on work-related stress, they can also apply to any activity requiring emotional and physical dedication. Each item can be scored from 1 meaning totally disagree to 7 meaning totally agree. Focus mainly on those symptoms occurring in the past month.
