Chronic pain relief
Feeling pain is an important way of communication by our nervous system. It tells some unwanted stimuli has effected the body. It becomes less severe in intensity as time passes and body heals. Chronic or long term pain is different from normal pain as in chronic pain body still feels uncomfortable after the injury which initiated the pain heals.
Chronic pain can last for years. It reduces the overall energy and work capacity of a person. A pain is labelled as chronic when it lasts at least for continuous 12 weeks. Pain can change its intensity and nature with the passage of time but it persists in chronic cases. Chronic pain can affect any part of your body. The pain can feel differently according to its location.
Following are the common examples of chronic pain:
- Cancer pain
- Pain of arthritis
- Postsurgical pain
- Post-trauma pain
- Lower back pain
- Neurogenic pain (pain caused by nerve irritation or damage)
- Psychogenic pain (pain related to stress factors)
Chronic pain starts after nerves become irritated by some stimuli or damaged. People may experience chronic pain without any prior injury. The pain can be associated with other disorders like chronic fatigue syndrome, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, inflammatory bowel disease, interstitial cystitis, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), vulvodynia. Chronic pain can affect any age group but it is most common in aged people. Females and obese people are at more risk of developing chronic pain.

Track pain level and frequency
Exercise daily for 30 min
Sleep for 8 hours daily
Take low histamine diet like vegetables and fruits
Meditate for 10 min daily
Green tea after meals thrice a day
Use of essential oils like put 2 to 3 drops of lavender oil on pillow before sleeping
Take 1 tablet of calcium in the morning and 1 tablet of iron containing B complex supplement in the evening
Warm compression on affected area having pain
Massage daily with warm olive oil on affected area of pain
Take warm water bath daily before bedtime
Take a painkiller as prescribed by your doctor. Track how much and when you took it via the app.
Add a pinch of organic turmeric powder in warm milk and drink before sleeping
Take 1 tablet of coenzyme Q10 daily
